Priya has been practicing Pilates since she was 12 years old as a dancer and has been teaching Pilates for over 10 years. While touring in a professional dance company, she faced many injuries and found Pilates was the one form of exercise that controlled her hyper-mobility and moved the body in dynamic ways that complimented her dance training. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach with a BA in Dance Science and BS in Kinesiology with emphasis in exercise science, she started working as a Physical Therapists aide at Newport Physical therapy. That is when she learned to empathize with patients coming fresh out of surgery or patients trying to get back into shape after injuries.
In 2014 Priya studied under Karen Clippinger and became certified in Pilates through Body Arts and Science International with an additional specialization in Pilates for dancers. She has completed level 1 and 2 of CoreAlign Training. She recently completed her certification in Pilates for peri/post menopausal clients through Balanced Body. She is also certified in Myofascial Stretching through ELDOA. Her education and extensive dance training and teaching makes her passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates to clients of all ages and abilities.
